Composed by Georges Bizet (1838 - 1875) and arranged in 2011 by Paul Burnell for recorder orchestra:

Two Soprano Recorders (1 doubling Sopranino), two Alto Recorders, two Tenor Recorders, two Bass Recorders, Great Bass Recorder, Contrabass Recorder.

Approximate durations:

Minuetto - 2:40
Adagietto - 2:30
Carillon - 5:30

The keys in these recorder orchestra arrangements of the Minuetto, Adagietto and Carillon from the first orchestral suite have been transposed from the originals.

The arrangements were first played at the Northern Recorder Course on 17 April 2011, at Bawtry Hall, Bawtry, UK.

Programme note:

The French composer Georges Bizet (1838 - 1875) composed incidental music to Alphonse Daudet's play L'Arlésienne in 1872. The music is not performed very much in its original form, but the two orchestral suites are still very popular.
