Paul Burnell

Paul Burnell was born in 1960, Ystrad, South Wales and now lives and writes in London.  Albums include 'Leaving the Party on Pluto', 'Good to Go', 'Sticking with Childish Things', 'Face Each Aged Ache'  'Cabbage Heads', 'Accompanied Readings Vol. 1 and Vol. 2', 'Acute Suites', and 'Griff Said Ruff'.  The album 'It May Have Been' with pianist James Bacon was released in 2016, and 'Accompanied Readings Vol. 2' was released in 2018.

The piece 'Birthday' was selected by Leatherhead Choral Society for their composition competition and was performed by them in July 2018.

In 2019 premieres were given by Hannah Cresswell (flute) & Constance Chow (piano), Jordan Wright Murray (percussion) and the CoMA East Midlands Ensemble.

'December Air' for voices was included in the 2022 publication 'Choral Partsongs'

CoMA Voices premiered 'So (Not) To Speak' in 2022, and that piece was the title track on an album of voice pieces released in 2023.

The album 'Woodland So Brightly' is released in 2024, featuring a collection of pieces featuring oboes and recorders.
